I hope you know that I was being facetious when I said Lexapro sounds like a fun drug.
I drive my doctors crazy because I insist on researching everything they recommend (drugs and procedures) before taking their advice. Most of the time the so-called medical professionals are not aware of the side effects or minimize them.
I prefer to take the "natural" route.
Use peppermint tea or slippery elm for upset stomach/gut. Peppermint pills (Pepogest) are a good product.
Don't believe in "anxiety" meds.
If you're anxious, the first step is to identify the cause and determine if your fear is rational. In other words, most things we fear are not "life threatening".
IMO, the best cures for anxiety are exercise and learning to meditate, practice deep breathing, etc. (I can reduce my blood pressure readings by breathing properly.) Also find music and dancing very helpful.
When I was a teacher, I saw so many kids who were (needlessly) on meds for lack of attention, nerves, whatever. Seemed to me that they would have been better served if they had been taught to handle the ups and downs of real life without drugs.
Just my opinions.
