Does anyone else get this.

Pain and tenderness just above your pubic bone. I get this now and again. Sometimes it feels like I have a balloon bouncing around inside me when I walk. It is alittle bit spasmy and tender when I press there.

Is this related to uc or could it be bladder.

Good chance it's because of UC, but addominal pain can be caused by several different issues.

With UC the pains have mostly been a dull burning in the area of illness for me. When I was flaring terribly it also felt like hundreds of little knives were being stabbed into my gut.

Spasms are possible. I used to get those the first year or two I had the disease and wasn't under much control. And, being tender is also possible from UC.

The balloon bouncing thing sounds more like something I'd feel after drinking too much water. Never experienced that sort of feeling from a UC thing, and I've had it over eleven years.

Sometimes I get stabbing pains in the left side. Other times I get general cramping feeling, similar in feel and location to menstral cramps.

Martha,
you described how I feel currently, with a water balloon bouncing inside. It really feels like my colon is not connected and it's being pulled around. Pain on the right is lower, and the left side is higher.

My balloon and pain is in the middle. I am also having cramps/spasms which my doctor has given me buscopan for. I see you are recently diagnosed. What is the extent of your inflammation. Do you have this pain all the time? I have had this intermittently over the years. I had proctitis until recently and my last scope showed some inflammation in the distal sigmoid. My GI only told me to go to my gp when I had this so I did b ut she can't determine whether its UC related or not and to be truthful neither can I, that's why I was curious if other people had this. I also had this pain 2 days before I had a scope. The scope showed no active colitis but I flared two weeks later.

My son just got out of hospital for low abdominal pain. He would have similar symptoms every few months for the past year and had been prescribed buscopan for the spasms. Last Monday he had they same symptoms but when he started violently shaking that night we headed for the hospital. Other symptoms included very low blood pressure, fatigue, wanting to have a bm but unable to. A cat scan showed appendicitis and blood cultures showed positive for bacteria. Turns out this might have been chronic appendicitis for months. Please monitor yourself closely and ask about your appendix. His pain was low central where appendicitis normally occurs on the low right. Maybe if this was caught months ago he wouldn't have a serious blood infection.

It sounds like your pain is UC related, to me. No I didn't have it when I went to the hospital on Feb 10th. But then I was barely eating before and had D 24/7. Then I was on feed tube for almost 30 days. The pain began after I got out and began eating and gaining Prednisone weight. It is always there, but I feel it more when I walk around or bend over, or get up from laying or sitting. It feels like I have an anchor attached to my gut. ugh.

Thank goodness your son made it to the hospital in time!
I would be more worried for myself, but I just got another CAT scan just a week or two ago.
It seems to be just inflammation that hasn't receded yet. Though I was surprised when he said that the right side looked better than the left, because my pain seems to be in the lower right as well.
They did see some gallstones too. That worries me but my doc isn't worried. It makes me wonder if some of the pressure I feel under my ribcage is from that.
