My prep instructions say that 3 days before the exam I can only eat: meat and fish (boiled or grilled.) brother juice, yogurt, milk and drinks without carbonation. At the 24 hours till mark it turns to an all liquid diet, which of course is normal.
does this seem weird? No fiber at all and all that meat and dairy? What if I bake my chicken?
This all seems like nonsense and unlike any other advice I've seen online. So 3 days before I can eat only meat for all my meals? No grains, fruits or vegetables?

my doc does not fuss so much about
fiber, but some do. easily digested meat sends very little residue into the colon. fiber sends a lot of residue into the colon

I have having a colonoscopy next week. My prep instructions always say to eliminate seeds so many days prior. Then the directions for the liquid diet the day before. Good to know about
the fiber.

Post surgeries, meats are one of the foods you can eat. It's "low residue" meaning, as DBwithUC says, very little get into the colon. Fruits and veggies send lots of residue into the colon, with insoluble fiber being the worst.
