Lialda before Colonoscopy

I have to take a laxative at 8 am for a colonoscopy that's at 5:30 pm. Should I just wait till it's over to take my daily Lialda or go ahead and do it in the morning before or with the laxative?

Well don't people usually clear out the night before for a morning colonoscopy, gary? Seems to make sense to me.
I know I did my prep at 5am for a 12pm colonoscopy...

I didnt feel like doing it the night before and then suffering all morning with no food or drink, so they told me I could get up early and do it that way. Muuuucch better. Though I was so cleared out, I ony needed half the drink prep.

And yeah.. lialda will just shoot right through you.

I thought just about everyone did colonoscopies in the morning, so that you didn't have to go all day long until dinner time without eating anything. Most people don't eat in the middle of the night so you just skip breakfast only, have your colonoscopy, and then pig out afterward. Well, maybe not pig out. That would tick me off if someone wouldn't let me eat all day so they could do a colonoscopy at dinnertime. I would be telling them to pick a morning time because that ain't gonna work. Maybe in other countries you don't have a choice and have to take what they give you.

But why do it if you don't have to? I mean you're talking about going about 24 hours with no food. Sorry, but that's stupid when you can get a colonoscopy in the morning instead of dinnertime. It's totally idiotic for any place to even schedule it that way. I would tell my doctors off if they even hinted at such a thing.

I went to a foot specialist once for plantar fascitis. Very painful just to walk. I kept on forgetting that they demand copayment on the spot and did not accept credit or debit cards. My last appointment with them I apologized for forgetting to bring cash or check as I forgot they didn't take cards. I mean what doctor's office doesn't accept cards? Receptionist told me I could walk out to my car, drive down to the ATM, and come back with the copayment. I was pissed. I told her if I go out that door I was taking my file with me. I did and found another doctor that took cards.
