I've been introduced to the most magical non dairy ice "cream" in the world. Ice cream was the one thing that I just couldn't find a good substitute for. The soy kind tastes like crap, the almond milk kind has a weird icy texture. But, finally I've found something as good as-if not better than- real ice cream. It's called "Coconut Bliss" and is made with coconut milk. No fillers, no carageenan, nothing. It's magical.

Here's an example of ingredients, this is their dark chocolate flavour:
Organic Coconut Milk (Organic Coconut, Water, Guar Gum)
Organic Agave Syrup
Organic Fair Trade Vanilla Extract
Organic Fair Trade Cocoa

It's creamy and delicious. I feel like a normal person eating normal food...not suffering with the crappy knock off because of my darn defective guts. It's nice to feel normal.

yup, it is good - I haven't had any in a while - it's kinda spendy - but yummy !

I'll try it and see what's up. But to be honest, I'm the only judge of this. If I say it's good, it's good otherwise it's not.

Rarely imitations are the real thing's equivalent.

I tried a massively amount of gluten free bread. Some are excellent but they don't quite get close to a real excelent gluten bread.

Trader Joe's carries a coconut milk icecream. I have had the strawberry and the chocolate. Pretty good!

Hay Guise...

Haven't tried coconut bliss, but will give it a gander.

I recommend this one as a non-dairy alternative. It's also made with coconut milk! Just 6 ingredients - non-gmo, organic and tastes awesome.

I thought that was the brand that blew me up - daughter too, will confirm next time I am back at the store.

I should have thought of making a ice cream out of coconut milk. More fat than fancy real ice cream. I used to eat in a family owned Thai restaurant that had absolutely fantastic red and green coconut milk curries. The members of the family were all butterballs. I asked for the recipe and the dad just showed me how to make it. He used a half cup of coconut CREAM to make the dish. Probably made it about 3000 calories a serving.

Coconut cream would fix frozen yogurt for sure.

oh yes, i'm a biiiiig fan of coconut bliss--been eating it every day since getting out of the hospital to try to gain some weight back :) it's a great company, no additives like carrageenan, etc. which aggravates the gut but unfortunately a lot of dairy alternatives have. just the pure stuff in this one, and soooo delicious!

Coconut Bliss is awesome!

Trader Joe's also carries a coconut water Popsicle that tastes great. I think it's called Coconut Water Fruit Floes. It's a great post workout treat after a long run or bike ride in the summer heat.

Wow...I'm limited where I live, there's not a big selection of anything really,and certainly not ice creams, so I am thinking of buying an ice cream maker and trying to make my own.

Poppie--i've made my own coconut ice cream with an ice cream maker, it's easy and so worth it! plus then you can decide what goes in it :)

Yes, I'm interested in trying to make my own too! The coconut bliss stuff is pricey! Let us know how you do if you make it yourself!
