This is the first time of my many scopes that they knocked me out a lot. I think when I said I am always awake for them when they put me in the room was part of it lol. Then I think when she started I said ouch! ouch! and then they came and put more meds in. All I know is I was asleep for 40 minutes after the procedure and the nurse woke me up and said I need to wake up and go home!

Then the GI came in and started talking and I tried to understand. Yikes. Hubby was there with me so I ran it by him once I woke up better to make sure I understood.

I still have a rectal ulcer. The colon looked good. Though she said she had to turn me a lot to get the scope through which never happened to me before? My follow up is July 7th. I am nervous about the biopsies. I am assuming I will be prescribed rectal meds but I have already tried them all and usually end up bleeding even more. I will keep you all posted.

Today I felt a little weak so I took a long nap. I had a bit too heavy of a dinner and then a dessert cake which seemed to give me gas pains shooting into my jaw? Ugh but I feel ok now I think.

I've only had 2 scopes, and was put under for both. But, I think I tend to develop immunity to anesthesia and things like that quickly, because I woke up halfway through last time! I remember hearing the doctor and nurse chatting about their weekend and stuff like that, so I just said 'Am I supposed to be awake right now?' and they rushed and gave me more drugs, ha.

Sleep well Princess, and I too hope for good biopsy news. Glad the upper levels looked good. The lower ones are tough to fix, but reachable. Fingers crossed.

Sounds like they gave you Propofol. That has become the docs' favorite in the last few yrs for knocking patients out totally during c-scopes. But at least it doesn't mess with memory like Versed/Demerol combo after scope. about the gastro turning you during procedure, I found out after my most recent c-scope last yr that there's a colon situation called "significant looping" that makes it harder to pass the equipment thru. I didn't have it, luckily, but it got into my scope report by mistake-- freaked me out 'til my doctor explained! Thanks for update & hope you get over post-scope discomfort by tomorrow. / Old Hat (33 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

I wish I got Demerol still for scopes!!! love that stuff ;-)

Good to hear it's done, and that all is still just limited to a small area. There are different choices for rectal meds...what would he probably be putting you on?

Hope all is good with the biopsies.

I have no idea what she is going to recommend. I remember that the foam made me bleed quite a bit. It's been a long time since I've taken any meds. So far the only thing on the scope papers was to increase fiber >:(
