Doing da discharge dance...

Looks like ill be doing the discharge chance today!

Amazing the hell I went through the first 24-30 hours and how quickly ive been recovering!

I did post a times on the ostomies forum... but figured people would be less interested here.
5 days and time to get my rest in at home! Sore from surgery but loving Beefers do gar! And have been disconnected from everything for 12 hours so no real reason to keep me around ;)

Have an adjustable bed at home and a friend coming today-Sunday solid to keep an eye on me! Kevin is home monday & tuesday as well. So I just need to behave!

Yay, I'm sure it's a relief to be home. Now you can sleep without someone coming in to wake you up every few hours. I'm glad things are going well for you. :)

Are they sending a home health care nurse to visit you every day? They wouldn't let me out of the hospital until they had the home nursing situation setup. The nurse would check my vitals and taught me how to change my appliance at home. I found it very helpful and valuable; my insurance covered it.

I'd also go to the nearest pharmacy and fill your prescription for pain meds, you don't want to have a 2 hour car ride in pain. The car ride home wore me out after surgery.

I had a home care nurse come for a few visits and it was great. She helped me get more comfortable with my new friend the stoma, changing the appliance and such. I'm glad I had that because I was so nervous about doing all that at first once I was home. Happy healing!
