The current proctitis thead got me thinking again on this.
Yes UC spreads from the distal end to the proximal end of the colon in some people.
So in those where at least it does not spread.
How can this type of UC be autoimmune.
If autoimmune then you might think the whole organ would get involved,but in many cases it does not.
Or why right next to ulcers the tissue can be none inflamed.
Seems the immune system is going after something,which I have to suspect is bacteria normal ones or virulent ones.
Due to some form of mucus/mucosl breach.
Where perhaps the immune system cannot clear the infection.
Have to reread the 10000 biopsy paper again,might remember
not too many bacteria in the ulcers,but belive they are denuded of mucus.
