OT = any helicopter pilots out there ?

I'm getting too old for a lot of the things that get my adrenaline going, so thinking about learning how to fly - but also as a way to earn some money -

any pilots out there ? know anyone who is that I could visit with ?

hmmm, you guys ever heard of the barefoot bandit ? not having the proper authority didn't seem to stop him from flying so there are ways around almost everything -

my life has been so full of challenges the last 10 years, I'm pretty use to just plowing thru - ya, the health thing might be an issue, not only uc, but my stupid ticker valve thing - we'll see !

ya poop man, the crotch rocket thing has been done - sold my vfr a year ago after my bil died, and before that I had a superhawk - been riding for many years - will never stop - well maybe someday ;-)

How about spinning yourself around in a chair? That gets my head rolling and makes me dizzy, but it is worth it.

This past Saturday I brought home a really fun sporty car. Not even close to an adrenalin rush.
Can't believe how pleasantly satisfying it is to drive.

It is a 2008 Hyundai Accent SE, 2-door hatchback, manual stick-shift with 6 gears (5 + R), power steering & power everything else, including sun-roof. Oh yeah, AC!!! AND 38 mpg

I was looking to replace an all manual 2000 Toyota Echo with similar econo-compact with power-steering and a hatch. It had become quite painful to grip and steer because of osteoarthritis in the c-spine and knuckles.

The Accent is about the length and (low) height of an old MG sport car. The factory color is Mellow-Yellow with a black interior. I call it a bumble bee, The Pollinator. It makes me very glad. Now I want to go places - day trips. And, July and August are the best months in Oregon to explore up the rivers into the Cascade mountains and west to the Pacific ocean.

Before all of the petrol fuel is gone and the planet is still intact - I plan on a few 'joy-rides.'

I have been a pilot for the past 16 years. I have been working with the FAA for the past 8 years when i was diagnosed with UC. As long as your UC is under control with meds, then it is simply a matter of getting the specific paperwork in order to get and then keep your medical. I currently have a third class medical, generally speaking this allows me to fly for fun. If you want to make money in aviation you will need a second class medical. This means tighter restrictions on your health, but it is still doable with UC. If flying is what you really want to do, then go for it!
