Thats why I wanted to try the DAOsin, for the food issues. On a side note that is exactly the route/description suggested by MAP infection.
I guess no matter how you look at it the only people that have managed to either recover or get into some state of near remission from the disease are those that have made significant diet and supplement changes to address food intolerances and inflammation.
Myself with WOO/Imuran. Gary with Grape Seed Extract/DAOsin. Path with antifungals/diet changes. Briggs with diet/supplement and anti tnf-a. Proto with WOO/diet. The list goes on....
I think for me I didn't read it because of the religious aspect more than anything. When I say my step-mom is religious that is an understatement. This caused serious issues between me an anything religious.
Briggs, Hurst and all the ones who did FMT with success (see Sharron's thread) have no more restrictions, though Curl insists on taking mesalamines for that safety net (even though I believe he does not have to).
Hurst's story probably rivals Rubin's, though his case wasn't exactly terminal. He was about
to have surgery, but instead took a hell of a leap with FMT (as well as with faith) to get out of his predicament. He eats like he used to prior to UC because there is no more UC pathology. Let me repeat that - It's like it never even existed for him (after having 11 years of pancolitis).
These stories inspired me to go on my own journey as well and then subsequently realize the nature of
my particular pathology (and I will not comment on anyone elses because that is their own journey to take).
I have zero dietary restrictions and can eat whatever I want with minimal issue. The very interesting thing is that I can eat as much sugar, chocolates, gluten, roughage, fiber I want without gastrointestinal distress. These are foods that would even give the average person without UC pathology trouble. I am not bragging, but that component was very psychological for me. I had to get over my own self-defeat tactics to tolerate those foods.
However, because certain food groups have proven to be inflammatory, I WILL NOT increase the risk of other diseases by eating hydrogenated oils, processed foods, etc, etc, but that is just my personal choice. My family has a history of heart disease and industrial oils (canola, cottonseed, etc) are the number oil culprit, point blank.
Oh and I don't want to speak for PathogenKiller but she eats everything nowadays, if we are going by her last hundred posts. She has you on ignore by the way.
