I really have never looked at crohns colitis.
But in general it is not just the dimensional thickness of mucus in Uc,but also the viscosity.
Bacteria can easily penetrate low viscosity mucus.
Crohns mucus too thick not flushing bacteria from crypts, it needs bicarbonate to expand, something
not right with bicarbonate transport, same with COPD we have a thread on that somewhere.
Actually believe the mucus is unexpanded,perhaps not overly thick just unexpaneded.
Some here go PC pills from Germany, no effect.
I tried short term low amount enema of PC, it was irritating so stopped.
