LDN experiment wasn't successful

Hi everyone, I didn't post here for a while, i decided to try LDN for a few months and then write about results. so started LDN qlmost2 months ago and within 2 weeks was feeling absolutely great 1 BM solid no B no M, took 2xsalofalk oral and 2 enemas per week. about 2,5 weeks ago developed some heaviness and pain in the upper abdomen just below breast bone tried everything to fix it but the pain was still there with food or without. so i thought that i might develop some delayed reaction to salofalk or liver was reacting to the tablets, so stopped oral salofalk and the pain got better almost immediately but now am I day 3 without salofalk and hello Blood and loose stool. i feel like i am banging my head against the wall everything I try works for the first 2 months and then it just stops. now i'm not quite sure what to do start salofalk again and put up with the pain or wait ans see if i improve on my own. I've got endoscopy and colonoscopy this friday booked so at least i'll have a clue what's going on in the top bit but it's pretty clear my colon is in bad shape. so as much as i would like to say that LDN was miracle drug for me without salofalk it doesn't work unfortunately. i really feel depressed and lost right now just want to scream or break something grrrr

I am sorry to hear you arent doing well delta. Perhaps trying a different 5-ASA may help?

I tried LDN a few months back and i think it helped initially. I started at 1mg and it helped a little but benefits started to disappear so after 3 weeks i upped it to 2mg. Again my symptoms got moderately better but after a week or so, symptoms returned. Upped to 3mg and the same thing happened (marginal improvement but symptoms returned after a week or so). Eventually upped to 4.5mg and benefits returned for a week or so but then disappeared.

This was enough evidence for me that LDN was not appropriate so stopped.

Ive found that various treatments, individually, seem to help marginally. Perhaps combining them together will provide full remission.

Hope your colonoscopy shows some insight into a better treatment for you delta.

Gary i am on SCD diet for almost 2 years now so that's not my case.
looks like LDN is not for me either Maxmilian, i am wondering if the LDN i am taking isn't effective because i order it online without prescription as all of my doctors are gutless and refuse to prescribe it. what other treatments are you talking about?

Delta: i have found that psyllium seed powder has helped with bulking stools and very very marginally helped with urgency (though the urgency is still bad).

I have been on LDN for 2 months and I was in my worst flare ever. I went to my GI and got Uceris & Imuran which finally helped me out of this flare. So far I'm doing good.
