Hi Guys,

has anyone developed PSC from UC i know it is one of the complications from this, can you please share some of the symptoms?

i have this upper right abdominal pain for quite some time now. My blood test was all good (LFT's good)

also had whole abdominal ultrasoung and CTSCAN and it was very good also.

this year i also had a super pale stool for one day (White as snow stool) after a hard night of drinking.. but came back to normal color after a day.

Hey Arbee, very sorry to hear this. I know Quincy for one can probably help you on this. It seems like someone comes on the forums every 3-4 months with a diagnosis/suspected diagnosis of PSC.

Just read your thread about proctitis. I know in a large study, rectal sparing (having inflammation elsewhere in the colon with a clean rectum) occurred in about half the PSC group. So, rectal sparing is very common in PSC patients.

Other risk factors are having your tonsils or appendix removed, have you been thru either of those procedures?

Do you really know for sure that you have PSC or you think you have PSC? If all tests are normal then why do you think you have PSC?

I don't know much about it but as I read 5% of UC people get PSC and 80% of people with PSC has UC.

You're basing it on discomfort, but yet your tests are fine?

Ask for an MRCP.

correction on my ultrasound i have a fatty liver but everything else are ok.

beside from discomfort on the right side i also had white poop for a day last month.

i am just scared that i might have psc.

i just want to know if others here you had developed PSC if they also encountered the same symptoms i am having like white poop and upper right side pain also had some itching on my back once in a while? and i am not sure if i am jaundice or not?

but my last lab result all saying i am very good besides the fatty liver.

oh and i also have an appendectomy when i was on grade school

You have fatty liver. OK....what are you doing for that? Doesn't seem you've stopped drinking.

You might have an issue with your gallbladder or even a blockage in your liver/gallbladder from stones.

Have an MRCP with biliary contrast....that should give a true insight into what's going on.

The fact that others have developed PSC with UC has no bearing on you having it. Your fear may be unwarranted and unhelpful. You should worry more about your drinking with a diseased liver than what you MIGHT have. Think more clearly and focused on the reality.

Of all the testing, you should have the MRCP first since it's non-invasive.

Go from there.

or don't and maintain your fear. Nothing fuels drinking like fear.

You probably do not have PSC. You are just worried. I always have upper right abdominal pain, and it is most likely from the UC. We all can have pale stool once in a while, don´t worry until you start having it more frequently.

Thanks guys.

Q.. actually i already stop drinking since feb 2014 but i am only human there was once a family event that i was tempted to take some shots until i can not control my self :(

it is really hard to control maybe some of you can relate.

i will try to ask my doctor for an MRCP if i continue to have symptoms.
