Entyvio Update-3rd Infusion

Completed my 3rd infusion about 5 days ago.  No side effects so far.  (Humira and Simponi gave me terrible chills and fever about 10 days after the injection).  Down to 2.5 mg of Prednisone and still doing good.  No blood or liquid stools.  Blood tests came out good as well---

HEMOGLOBIN=15.1

C-REACTIVE PROTEIN=0.1

SED RATE=6

Hoping to drop down to 1 mg of Prednisone in a couple of weeks.   I have been on some level of Prednisone since 2011..never been off it.  Urgency is getting better, possibly (or probably) due to my re-commitment to rectal meds.  about 6 BMs a day and consistently sleeping through the night.  Still a long way to go, especially dealing with morning urgency/frequency and some anxiety issues.  Finally starting to feel some optimism concerning UC.  Entyvio has not been an overnight miracle but I am experiencing very slow and incremental benefits.  Not sure how long I'll continue to improve but hoping for the best.

I think if your colon is very damaged it is not going to heal overnight so slow steady progress is going in the right direction.

I'm almost 2 weeks past my 3rd infusion (so at week 8 tomorrow). Still having tough time in the mornings w/ urgency and mucous. Maybe a little less blood. I'm still waiting for a miracle.

I am so happy for you... your positive results are good for me... I did my second infusion yesterday.  Joints are stiff but improvement about in every area.   Even took zpack... and that is usually awful but ok just 1 accident since Saturday.

Thanks for posting this. After several months on Remicade, including doubling the dose, we've come to the mutual conclusion that Remicade didn't work for me. I'm disappointed, because other than fatigue the evening of my infusion, I tolerated it quite well. I'm waiting for them to schedule my first dose of Entyvio, so I'm following these threads pretty carefully.

I'm actually in pretty good shape right now, because I had to go back on Prednisone. (We agreed that it had to happen soon, since I wanted to be "tuned up" for my daughter's wedding, which was this past weekend! I was as healthy as I've been in MONTHS, so it was a perfect night! :)) However, we all know that we have to get me off of the Pred again, and since Remicade hasn't been working, this seems like the right time to move in a different direction.

I've been doing pretty well but not in remission. Still having a lot of problems in the morning with urgency and frequency. I believe my anxiety levels are at least partially to blame with the morning problems. That said, I have been off prednisone since 10/31/14 and can't remember the last time I had to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. I'll be adding RS and a strong probiotic to see if I can get to remission.
