I think things are working. I didn't need to use the bathroom until this 3 p.m. this afternoon and it was normal in appearance. When I'm not dealing with constipation, I'm waking up every morning at 5 a.m. needing to go for the first of what is usually 3 movements in the morning. I hope it's not a fluke. I'm tapering prednisone and am down to 10 mg. I was starting to think I'd have to level off or go back up to a higher dose because I could feel the urgency picking up early last week and my output had the consistency of sand by appearance. I noticed yesterday my output seemed more solid. It still had that grainy appearance, but it was as close to formed as I'd seen it in a while. Today's is the most normal looking movement I've had in over a year.
The only downside I have to report about the entyvio is I feel a bit foggy in the brain. The fatigue hit at the 48 hour mark with the first infusion, but seemed to be an issue for a day. The 48 hour mark was when I noticed the fatigue this time, too, but it's lasting longer. I'd say I have a headache, but it's not like any headache I've felt before. It's hard to describe. I'm not in pain. It's more like I feel some throbbing. The detached feeling is what's weird. It's like I'm in slow motion with everything else moving faster. I was in a crowded room yesterday and didn't like it one bit. It made me dizzy.
Perhaps the fatigue is part of the reason I'm doing better. I went to bed at 9 p.m. last night and slept unit 6 a.m. this morning. I woke up because I couldn't sleep anymore. It had nothing to do with needing to go to the bathroom. A good night's sleep often helps me combat my pancolitis.
In any event, just wanted to pass on the news so far. I'm also noticing I'm not as 'aware' of my colon. I usually feel the entirety of it because of an achy feeling of fullness. I don't have that today...even if I bend over.
Fingers crossed!
