Anyone have a endoscopy before?

I've had one. I was terrified beforehand, thinking I'd be gagging on this scope or something. But it was fine. They sedated me before they even started and I woke up, they were done, and I remembered nothing.

I've had 2 colonoscopies, both very different experiences. Just last Monday I had the 2nd and it was textbook--I did the cleanse, not so bad except for the not eating part. They will insert an IV before the procedure and give you medication so that you hardly feel anything. And you won't remember much, if anything about the procedure. They don't put you to sleep, but the medication makes you more or less nap through it. The cleanse is typically the hardest part. Hope that helps, and that all goes well on Monday.

I've had a couple. It's not a big deal at all. You're sedated so you have no idea what's happening so no need to worry about gagging.

what meds make you dizzy? You mean anesthesia?

I think they use Propofol for these types of diagnostic procedures.

I've had two of endoscopies. Unfortunately I am resistant to sedation. The first one, I remembered the beginning of the procedure, and the second one I remember the end. I had them for GERD (or so we thought) and ended up being diagnosed with celiac disease.

My first colonoscopy, I was alert the whole time. I kept telling them I was not out. So, on my second one I told them I heard and remembered EVERYTHING they said at my other colonoscopy. That time the gave me a triple dose of meds and I remember nothing.

Hopefully you have a completely normal response to medicine, unlike me, being the freak that I am.
