Radio talkshow on bacterial cause

Believe mine is bacterial related too. Started after Bactrim DS and FMTs have had a impact on me.

It's not in detail - medical wise etc and is kind of a goofy talk show program in a way, but it does however show that there is a viable alternative treatment option aside from biologics for those with Crohn's or Coltis that get re-diagnosed to Crohn's.

More than anything it's nice to hear someone describe feeling as though most days they don't have a disease. I however don't particularly like the idea of remaining on antibiotics indefinitely. Nor the possible side effects of doing so.

I do find it interesting that upon stopping the antibiotics symptoms begin to return. Re-start the antibiotics and they go away.

This reminds me of the experience people describe with Oregano Oil in place of antibiotics. It also reminds me of Biologics as they are similar - stop them and symptoms return. Quite fast. Biologics traditionally thought as targeting inflammation (TNF-a). Antibiotics traditionally thought of treating bacteria. New evidence shows that biologics should target MAP whereas antibiotics should not directly effect TNF-a. But maybe it's worth looking into - if antibiotics can in fact directly block/reduce TNF-a versus indirectly by means of alleviating bacterial infection.

Hope that makes sense. I'm wondering if there's two sides to the same coin.

The woman in the interview said she must continue to take antibiotics every month to prevent the flare symptoms from returning.

I needed antibiotics to jump-start my remission too but that was only a one-time thing. I think I don't need to continually take ABX because I take probiotics every day to keep the bad guys in check. And avoiding triggering foods is also important.

Stools inevitably become less formed over time; and sometimes I will eat something bad that causes diarrhea. When that happens I am more careful of my diet and increase my probiotics while nourishing them with psyllium seed before my symptoms get out of control and morph into a full-blown flare. Has worked so far.

I don't regularly take DGL, boswellia, and curcumin every day but they come in handy along with probliotics/psyllium seed to snuff out early symptoms of an approaching flare.
