So, I'm prepping for a 9 am colonoscopy...any tips on how not to gag on the solution? I threw up a little already. I'm washing it down with ginger ale and Gatorade. So gross. This is my fourth colonoscopy in three years....oh boy.

No matter what they order for me, I use a medium size bottle of miralax with Gatorade since it has no flavor. Otherwise I get nausea/vomiting. It's always cleaned me out and I've used if for the last 3-4 colonoscopies. Good luck; definitely the worst part of being scoped.

I was told to have it as cold as possible and drink with a straw.

Huh- Interesting. Sometimes I read these and wonder what they are taking... For all of the bazillion colonoscopies over the years I've always use Picolax which is super easy to make and drink. Just like lightly flavoured water really so you can down a glass in a few seconds.

What is it you are taking?

Golytely. I have to drink four liters of this disgusting clear liquid! Two liters down...have to wake up at 2 am to drink the other two liters! :(

OMG, I can't even imagine what you're going through, i did Halflytely for many years and that was God awful and only 2 liters. How are you supposed to finish 4?! You'll be cleaned out way before then I figure. I didn't even think they still prescribed that prep when there are so many out there that require less prep drinking. I feel for you.
