So I've been off all medication for a couple years now with very minor symptoms. I had a huge flare in 2012 but recovered very well since then. Recently I've been having a swollen abdomen, right below the belly button accompanied with very bad pain and tender to the touch. What area is this considered as far as the intestines. (Right below belly button, bladder region) seems to be after a decent size meal.

If it's not bloating from gas then I would get it checked out by your doctor.

I just went to the GI doctor and she wanted to prescribe me lialda but I don't think this is a good idea seeing how I have a history of heart inflation due to a possible side effect of meslamine

Sounds like you need a new GI if you don't agree with restarting mesalamines after pericarditis. I read it can be caused from systemic inflammatory disorders. Maybe get other opinions on your next steps UC-wise. I would mention the distended lower abdomen which could be caused from other things.

The swollen belly doesn't alarm me as much as the pain and tenderness to touch. That sounds like active inflammation.
