I had a horrible headache yesterday afternoon, part of the evening, and woke up with it again early this morning. I wondered if it could be from me being just past the 8 week mark of Remi and not getting the scheduled infusion. But, I wouldn't know why it would come about because of this...

I usually get bad headaches 2 weeks before Remicade infusion.

Honestly, I have been screaming at top of my lungs on this board about migraine-IBD connection but either folks don't get it or they don't see as a major problem.

I get headaches ALL the times. Just had 16 hour episode on the weekend. Although I am not on Remicade, I think its more related to the gut issues than the medicine itself. I have been though almost all non-biologic meds and it has kept company, no matter what I take.

Offnote, have you checked your hormones by any chance? My testosterone is very low and there is a migraine connection to that too. Lower hormones as a result of gut brain feedback loop that in turn affects gut and brain. Funny loop for sure.

deltaforce: I have suffered from chronic migraines all of my life, and now after reading your post, I am curious if it has anything to do with my UP. I have had the headaches since way before I was diagnosed, but that doesn't mean they still couldn't be triggered from my gut problems. Interesting point!

I actually think the causality is reversed - I only developed migraines with menopause and I find that a migraine triggers upset bowels, not the other way around.

I was going to make a new post a while ago but never got around to it. I have noticed that every time I take certain probiotics for a long time (rheuteri/renew life) and then I suddenly stop, I get whacked by a two+ day long killer migraine. It's happened a few times now. So I was going to post like delta mentions and that I think for some of us there's a big mind/gut connection to migraines. Could be our bodies and bacteria adjusting to meds and such... who knows. I found it interesting though, and painful...

I hadn't thought about it before, but I began taking probiotics again last week in preparation for this absence from being on any meds. I was taking them as I felt my body needed them, in varied doses. It could well be that was what led to the headaches. I haven't had them since, and I have also lowered the probiotic dosing to nearly nil, as my gut was too active so I gave it a break from most anything non-calming to it.
