bad acne rash!!

after having problems for weeks now my doctor decided i should up my dosage of prednisone from 25mg to 50mg. almost overnight it helped relieve a lot of my uc problems, but with this increased dosage i got this awful rash on my face and neck that continues to slowly get worse, now its in my eyes and the rash is starting to look like little boils everywhere. obviously my doctor will find out about this tomorrow, but i was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar thing and how long did it last. i am also on my 4th week of taking mp6.

Steroid induced acne is a specific form that the dermatologist can treat. It is not easy to resolve, and you may have to risk topical antibiotics that your GI will have a fit over....oral antibiotics work, but are quite dangerous for UC ers. We had luck with Clyndamin(sp?) and Dorex-topical and a Renin A called Renova. Once off the Pred, a few months will clear up the pustules.
