to search for an answer gives unjustified biased views

Why is it when parents of sick children search for answers and after reviewing all possible causes can pin point when there child became ill , it's okay to say " oh it runs in the family or it came from some mysterious alien from out of space " but mention the word vaccine and its because you want something easy to blame or your after compensation , what terrible views people have.
My son now 17 was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at the age of 6 , I always remembered what his consultants said when he was first diagnosed " problems with adolescence is going to be the harder part of keeping him in remission" and as sure as he said it in 2012 just before his exams !! Bang !!! Toxic mega colon , iliostomy, sub_total colectomy, and more surprisingly a newer illness to add to his list of problems which made recovery 10x more difficult ; ACUTE GENERALISED EXANTHEMATOUS pustulosis ?
where did this come from he was okay before I asked the doctor ? No answer like to many of the questions I had asked previously, until I spoke to another consultant who stated possibility with dates involved 1997_2003 childhood vaccinations brought on the ulcerative colitis , possibly also acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis , 2014 brought the most anticipated operation my son had ever wanted : the reversal of his iliostomy.
Until it was done of course now his back to suffering again , same symptoms as from when he was first ever diagnosed resurfacing in the most horrid way ,
"I thought this operation was meant to make my quality of life better mum "
My son has suffered from the age of 6 and just when hope came along for him it was snatched away as quick as it come,
I have seen quite a lot of people stating that ! Us mothers/fathers use vaccinations as an excuse to blame our children's sickness on , so we can claim compensation for the damage !!
I personally like most parents who has witnessed there child endeavour the most horrific ordeals and invasive procedures to obtain some normality or pain relief , watched our children been hacked away in procedures so vial that's effected there whole life , we don't want compensating we want a way to stop what ever is causing our children's misery and pain , we only want to make our children better, money won't bring back a colon etc. Won't stop what ever is causing the problem so people who make these unjustifiable remarks try living the life these poor children suffer everyday

Remember, correlation doesn't always equal causation. It's easy to blame something without proof and convince yourself it must be. I'm sure you could correlate a lot of things that happened just before his diagnosis as probable causes for said diagnosis. Proving it was any one of those things would be quite tough. I would stop worrying about what caused it as it is impossible to know. I hope things get better for your son, what a rough start he's had...

I won't venture into the details of vaccinations and various forms of long term diseases and/or disorders. In short, if you keep eyes and mind both open and search literature wisely, there is a SIGNIFICANT information on how vaccines (be it the germ against or the contents) can cause various diseases and/or disorders. Its just that either we are so brainwashed or vaccine lobby is so huge, that your voice won't be heard at all, if you are not ridiculed enough. As the OP says, the compensation money won't help your child (you can't even do that now in the US, in case folks don't know), so that should not even be in discussion.

I was in the same boat that vaccinations are safe and save us from various diseases. They do, but as our quality of life improves, we should be reducing the number of vaccines we take/get/forced. On the contrary, we are getting more number of vaccines.

Regarding your son, its sad. I totally get it. What got him UC, we don't know yet. So only thing that is in his hand is, educate himself and navigate lifestyle so that he keeps his UC remission in place. When I was diagnosed, things were pretty bad. Over the period of time, I learned what helps and what does not. I try to do my level best to keep those points followed in my lifestyle.

I'm not really going to wade into the vaccine debate other than to say my Dad is a polio survivor. I am very thankful for the polio vaccine. It helped put an end to an epidemic. It has protected so many people (myself included!).

There is a risk with everything. There are very small proven, researched risks with vaccines. For me, the risks are worth it. And since I am able to be vaccinated (not live virus due to meds) I get vaccinated. Herd immunity only works for those who can't be or aren't vaccinated if the majority of people get vaccinated.

I will get you few papers once I get a chance. I had complied few because DS was up for booster shots, to show it to his ped. I seem to have deleted that file. I will have to search them again.

The sad fact is that no one actually knows for sure what causes UC or other "autoimmune" diseases. There actually is a lot of research being done, so hopefully there will be an answer soon that leads to a cure or at least better treatments.

I know it's really difficult not to look for things you did or didn't do that led to his illness, but that really doesn't help either of you. You did what was, as far as you and others knew, the best thing for him at the time. Still, despite all the studies done, not one valid study has established a documented link between vaccines and any immune problems or chronic diseases. Perhaps some day we will all know more.
