Wow, I just posted the same question without seeing this first- SORRY! But yes- this is me, me, me!! Ever since I was diagnosed and began mesalamine, the periods are GONE. I tried as hard as I could to last 2.5 months without any drugs (to see if I woudl get my period), but my UC came raging back, and I never saw my own P. Ughhh. I have been given BC a couple times, and it comes right back. But that's not a real period, as you're not ovulating.
I recommend hormone replacement therapy merely because the low estrogen leads to osteoporosis... a problem you really don't want to have downt he line. My gyno freaked out that I had been missing my periods for so long without intervention.
It's not a problem for me now... but what about in 10 years when I want to have kids?
