UC and Rectal Pain - Not Sure if Related

I have had UC for a while now and for a long time I have also had a severe, recurring pain in my rectum. They both started occurring around the same time so I'm not sure if they are connected. I have seen a doctor who has confirmed the UC, but he seemed to be baffled about the rectal pain I am experiencing. It also occurs when I am aroused, which I found to be very disconcerting. When I experience the rectal pain, I would always feel like I am having a bowel movement. The pain is debilitating and I am considering turning to a urologist or maybe even checking into a hospital to see what the problem could be. I am wondering if this has anything to do with my UC condition, since they happened at the same time. Has anyone else ever experienced this phenomenon? Does anyone have thoughts on what kind of specialist I should turn to? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hey there, so what kind of pain is this? Is it a burning, or a pressure, or something else?

Is there any other potential cause that you can think of for the pain, such as anal sex, etc...

There's always the prostate, which could have an issue. I think there are some sensitive areas there that do come into play in arousal.

I can't remember a horrible pain at my rectum solely. I'm sure when I was flaring badly it hurt quite a bit, but that's when I was going 15+ times a day, bleeding, mucus... the whole nine yards.

I remember hearing about this random, recurring, rectal pain associated with uc before -

It could be Proctalgia Fugax, a few members here with UC posted re this condition. One member said that his pains improved by over 90% after he started to medicate with Magnesium Oil daily.

I have experienced rectal pain during flares and it's not from the number of stools but from inflammation. I'm wondering if you're experiencing tenesmus since you mentioned it feels like you're having a bowel movement. Is it a severe pressure? Do you use any rectal medication to help manage your UC?

I was also diagnosed with UC and I had experienced symptoms such as severe stomach pain, diarrhea and blood in my stool. doctor that my condition was already severe. I went through a 10 month medication but nothing happened, so I decided to undergone a surgery. My colon and appendix was removed.
