Anyone taking Giazo yet?

My doctor gave me some samples of Giazo today to try (in addition to Entyvio). I had some success years ago w/ brand-name Colazal (not the generic). I am not in remission from the Entyvio so he suggested I give this a try. I had never heard of it.

Apparently, it's better for men than women. Something to do about intrinsic ph levels.

The effectiveness of GIAZO in female patients was not demonstrated in clinical studies. The safety and effectiveness of GIAZO beyond 8 weeks have not been established.

Could be worth a shot. *shrugs*

I just read that about being more effective for males. I have 6 days worth of samples. I'll give them a go. He said if I didn't like these I could go back on Apriso (or something similar).

Sounds like a male birth control pill to me.

I'd give it a shot because I had good results initially with colazal. Also, balsalazide disodium has better efficacy (from the data) for those with left sided UC. I think it reaches certain areas in the descending colon more effectively than the standard mesalamines.

That's funny Guardian 7. The other night, me and my husband were laughing at all the TV advertisements for new meds -- and the names are ridiculous. I'm thinking about writing a jingle for them. :) The craziest part is that the ads were literally one after the other so it made it even funnier.

To the OP, I have not tried the new meds, so keep us updated.
