Sorry for the tmi but I'm wondering if anyone has had any issues with absorption? I knew that I had a LOT of apriso granules coming out in my stool but now I've discovered that my uceris pill is coming out whole as well:(

Well Nvm, just found out that apriso lowers the ph of your stomach and uceris needs ph higher than 7 to be absorbed. Kudos to my Dr for not telling me to take uceris first and wait before the aprisos. I always take the apriso first because it takes a while to choke down 4 huge capsules

I couldn't verify that with google.
both seem to require higher pH. >6 for Aspiro and >7 for Uceris - but in both cases pH is about
release - not absorbtion.
do you have a reference for Aspiro lowering stomach pH?

I'm on Apriso and the granules definitely come out - I asked my doctor and he said it was normal.

When I googled passing uceris in stool it linked me back to boards here of people having the same issue and that's what they said. I figured the apriso was ok because I at least knew I was getting some since the encapsulation was dissolved but the whole uceris tablet is coming out

I have been on Apriso for a year and a half and have not noticed any in my stool. I used to see Asacol tablets come out whole when I was on that.
As far as PH, Apriso doesn't change the level, but it needs a certain level to make it to your colon intact. Certain foods and meds, such as antacids and acid reducers, can change your PH level. Make sure you discuss with your dr all the meds you're on.

Wow I've always seen it in my stool. Lots and lots looks like sesame seeds almost. I never take antacids as I know they interfere
Thanks but I'm not discussing anything else with my current doctor. Going to a teaching hospital next month
