6MP porblems

Hello:

I started 6MP on November 19, 2014 baseline labs were all normal. Took blood work on December 1 and bilirubin had raised to 1.1 and ALT was on the high side. Took blood work on January 1 2015 Bilirubin was 1.6 and ALT was higher and hemoglobin was low. The doctor lowered the dosage and also ordered properdict test.

I have decided I am going to quit taking the drug. I have had headaches, sore joins and tiredness. How long should it take the blood work to return to normal. The reason I want to quit the drug is i don't want to damage my good liver or die from one of the listed side effects.

I would like to hear from those who have had these side effects and what was the end result.

It sounds like your doctor is doing everything right, lowering the dosage and ordering more tests. There is plenty of time to intervene before any actual damage is done to your liver. However, you stopping your medications without a drs order does seems like a real bad idea.
