.Dear UC people..Here I have some NOPAL flat leaves in my hand wrapped twice in plastic bag.
I went to many food stores ..no luck...BUt then, I drove 12 miles to an Asian food store and I saw a lot of Prickly pear (Nopal) leaves and bright red-maroon colored fruits. I stood in corner watching people who were buying..a bunch of middle aged ,Chinese and Korean women, giggling and feeling happy and talking in God knows ..what language..bought bunch of both leaves and fruits. When they left..I picked up a few big leaves..kinda looking around to see what people might be thinking about
me buying cactus to eat.. Total cost for 4 large leaves came out $ 1.70. I am frugal ..I love this price. I am starting "the Nopal Water" every morning from tomorrow...I have nothing to lose ..only $1.70. https://www.healingwell.com/community/emoticons/smile.gif
BTW, I did research about
Nopal..it has strong anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties and some Doctors in India are doing clinical studies in their system of medicine called IURVEDA....Lets enjoy the Cactus for now.
