Can you use salofalk supositories iregulary

Hi I had some small blood few months ago and my GI prescribed me salofalk supositories. He didnt want to upper my dose of salofalk but I have asked for it. ( insisted )
I had take them 3 times and the bleeding had stopped. I have also took them lets say it 6 or 7 times more totaly irregulary. ( got some cramps and was scared ) Other than that I am doing fine.
Is it bad to take supositories that way. I was taking them that way because every small cramp that I think is normal is Uc sign for me ( I am really scared )
I was diagnosed with pancolities and I am on 2 g oral salofalk per day. I am in sympotmatic remission.

Yes. If it's working then keep it up. If it were me though I would take them regularly, like twice per week instead of waiting tor symptoms to develop and then taking them.

as for me, supositories never worked, actually made things worse. I think that salofalk enemas are much better, now i'm off the meds, but some time ago i wouldn't really handle my colitis without salofalk enemas (4g), it's a life saver

My perspective through experience.....

If you're spot treating it's not enough...increase till perfect, then taper to a maintenance regimen that will help maintain.

You shouldn't be bleeding as a first symptom....it's already stating your tissue in the rectum is quite fragile. It's a progression and regression of degrees.

Maybe use the supps twice daily for a while.

I, as well...endorse the enenas over the supps as a treatment. The supps can be used to support the enemas, however...and eventually be tapered to the supps The supps can be tapered to a maintenance.
