I'm more concerned about
the additives than the sugar content. I was reading about
how phosphoric acid messes up bone density and contributes to chronic kidney disease on wikipedia. Then there is high fructose corn syrup which IMO is the prime reason kids are being put on ADD/ADHD drugs, since it screws up the neurotransmitter balance.
I used to drink quite a bit of soda in my teens, but UC gave me the memo to stop. I still remember those lazy summer days where we used to play video games and indulge in nothing but poptarts and vanilla coke.
Whole foods sells organic coke with natural flavors and just plan ol' cane sugar. I highly recommend it to folks here that want their soda kick without the adverse health affects. It seems like my colon can handle it these days, so I am grateful.
Mark - there is also gluten free and organic pizza so it might suit you better. I still think you are able to eat it. I think there's a strong mental component people have to get past first.
Best.
