I'm in Canada as well, would love to know where you got it! I've been doing it, but only using the fruit as that's all I could find. How severe were you symptoms before you started?

My symptoms were bloody stool, severe cramping, 5-6bm a day when I am flaring. I have been on pred, Imuran to stop last bad flare which was 10 years ago. I then went into a remission until the last half year and have not had much success getting it back into remission. I hope this is working. Oh, I also take a probiotic from Natural Factors and fish oil on a daily basis. I have been able to taper salafalk enema to every third night and also take 2 oral salafalk/day everyday for maintenance.

If anyone has further questions, I will surely answer, also if anyone else is trying the nopal, how are you doing?

Love seeing nopal success stories ... makes me think this stuff is for real and it's not just a coincidence that I am getting better since I have been drinking it. It's been a month now and I am so so so close to feeling like I am 100% in remission. Going 1-2 times a day, fully formed, now seeing only very very faint blood every few days. When I started it was 2-5 (or more) per day, very soft & only semi formed with a good bit of blood every 2-3 days. And that had been going on since June. I have been drinking 24 oz of the water I make, but it's probably not nearly as concentrated as what you are buying. Starting to cut back on the amount now so I don't get myself constipated.

I have no intention of ever stopping my maintenance meds, but plan to use nopal as my go to at even the slightest hint of a flare.

Can I ask how much of the salofalk you get is covered by your drug plan/health insurance?

Yes Jazz, crazy thing is I ran out as awaiting my second bottle and symptoms came back...just ever so slightly. Do not know if its a coincidence or what. The nopal should be in the mail on Monday, so I will let you know if I find relief again when restart it. Yes I only had about an ounce in the morning on an empty stomach.

Cool thanks for the info, wow that is interesting you stopped taking it and some symptoms came back. Anyway i tried about 2 ounces just now, this stuff tastes weird..haa. Not like the sweeter TruNopal water, this is green and thicker.

Any more updates on the Nopal? I ordered some of the juice made from the fruit and the pad. Though I feel like my pancolitis has receded on Entyvio, my rectum is still giving me trouble from time to time. I ended up on Uceris to deal with it between infusions. I've been drinking the Nopal juice for two days now and things seem to be improving. I add one to two tablespoons to lukewarm tea at morning and at night. It's super easy for me to drink. I also ordered some pads but ended up with tiny cactus spines all over the place. I thought I was being so careful with them. A few got in my dish cloth and such, so they were constantly ending up in my fingers like slivers.

I have a big presentation to give at a conference tomorrow. Once I get past that, I'll cut the uceris and see how I'm really doing. That will be the test, I suppose.
