Did you say that she has gotten better since seeing the ND? More than likely it is the placebo effect but who knows? Assuming that your sister is right, I don't think this means that you will have to restrict your diet further as you could probably start eating some things you aren't eating now.

There have been some posts on this in the past with mixed results. I assume they are talking about a blood test to check for food allergies. These tests have been found to be notoriously innaccurate and often tend to show that you are allergic to most of the stuff you eat and very little to the things you don't eat. This often makes your light bulb come on and say to yourself, "Ah Ha!" when in reality what is happening is that your body makes small amount of antigens (not necessarily allergies) to the food items it has been exposed to and no antigens to the food items that it hasn't been exposed to. In other words, if you quit eating all the foods you have eaten before and started eating all the foods you have never eaten and got retested again in the future, it would show that you were allergic to absolutely everything.

Food sensitivities.are a separate issue......once a body is distressed, they can certainly exacerbate helth issues.

There is no cure for psoriasis. ..but some foods, products, stress, exercise, heat, cold, illness, meds.....list goes on....can certainly exacerbate flares and the intensity of them.

Is it worth doing? Go for it, but keep in mind they aren't going tk change the UC aspect, but you might be having some food issues as well.

How much did you pay and do you have to go through some practitioner or just go by yourself?
My son's IgE came 250X of the higher end of the spectrum, so I am searching into allergies like zombie at this moment. There are so many methods and stuff to check that I am quite confused where one should concentrate.

honestly df, i don't remember - my ND set it up, I went and had the blood drawn, and it got sent off - I'm pretty sure you can work directly with them as long as you have a local lab that can take your blood - they can tell you for sure -

if i would have been smart and ditched the bad stuff from the get go, i probably would have saved myself years of grief - but stubbornness and stupidity ruled my world at that time -

the biggest issue for me is the sneaky ass gluten - for me it's not a quick attacker - it's slow, stealthy thing that eventually catches up and wreaks hell on my colon - that's why it took so long for me to accept that is was THE biggest problem ! an allergy is easy - eat a banana, run before your pants fill up - with a sensitivity or intolerance, it's much harder to decipher - it literally would takes months for me, depending on how much i ate -

i also have issues with corn and rice, which also tested in the red zone -

Well there has to be something to food allergies/intolerance/sensitivity because many people suffer with all kinds of bowel issues, skin issues, headaches and so on and then they find out they have sensitivity or allergy or intolerance to certain things so they cut those things out and BAM!!! they feel fine again and are able to go on with life without suffering needlessly.
