mostly just wanted to share about his doc - i've mentioned him before, but with fights recent .......er......comments about docs, this seemed a good time to give an atta boy to most docs and medical type folks in general - they are not Gods and don't have all the answers - but guys like Dr Wahbeh are what make up, in my estimation, 90% of the medical community - they are kind, caring, intelligent people, and have us and our families best interests and health at the forefront of their being - yup, there are some clinkers out there, just like in the rest of the world - but I hate to think of a world without them -
First, that's awesome that you have such a good feeling/relationship with your son's GI. It makes things more tolerable (not sure if that's the right word, but I hope you know what I mean) when you're working with a doctor you really like.
And AMEN to the passage I quoted. I really do think that most doctors are good people who really want to help. A lot of people think docs are just in it for the money, but what they forget is that there are YEARS of (expensive) schooling, then more YEARS of residency, where you're paid like crap and work a ton of hours, and if you specialize (and therefore do a fellowship) more years where you're paid like crap and work a ton of hours. So really, it's a pretty dumb choice if it's all about
money.
Anyway, my sister is a pediatric nephrologist, so it really burns me when people disparage doctors as a whole. She cries every.single.time she loses a patient. And it happens more than I care to think about
, given that she works with subset of pretty ill kiddos.
