Pepto has salicylates as does Asacol. Since it does absorb in the colon, it might lighten the Asacol efficacy.
It doesn't seem you're sensitive to salicylates, so you may as well take it with you in case you pick something up. I wouldn't use it as a preventative daily, however. If you use fibre supplements, make sure you take them as well.
Take the asacol with food and the fibre with meals (to ask like food)
