Does anyone know a good gi at the mgh in boston? I'm looking to change doctors.

If you don't get any responses you can go to ratemds.com. This is a peer based website that leaves reviews and star ratings of docs of various specialties. That is how I find many of my docs and I've not been disappointed.

I was going to suggest my GI from my days in Boston (Dr Korzenik), but it appears he (and his nurse) have moved over to the Brigham. If you don't have to go to MGH, specifically, I liked him quite a bit (and he handed me off to another great GI when I left Boston for Chicago, which I am thankful for).

Yes, J. Korzenik is very highly regarded by my IBD-subspecialist gastro, too. You will have to deal with a busy office wherever he is, but that's true of most good doctors these days. They don't always have quick phone service or super-organized front desks so getting a foot in their door may be challenging & take a while. / Old Hat (34 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

Dr Winters is around Boston, don't know exact place. He usually refers patients to Dr. Buie. Both of these GIs are top recommended in autism community. As a general rule, if ASD community parents recommend any doc, he/she is way above average than the general crop.

Just make sure that he is not a kiddie doc. I don't know that.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I do have one other question, when researching gastroenterologists is it important to look at the clinical interests and if ulcerative colitis or IBD is not listed there to disregard that doctor.

I have a few gastros on my best doctors list, but ulcerative colitis and IBD are not listed in their clinical interests.

If they have a good reputation but are not particularly interested in IBD, what will they do for you? / Old Hat (34 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

Hello,

I'm a bit late here but Brigham has a great department that has been very, very good in my care. I have Dr. Friedman and I hear many others in the department are just as good. If MGH doesn't work out, try BWH.
