If you haven't tried the SCD diet yet, I would recommend giving it a shot. It's probably one of the main things that actually really started to help me the most, and I never gave it a real chance before.
It isn't even hard to follow. For a couple of weeks (maybe even a month), just do a bland diet of this and don't cheat at all on it and see if you notice a change.
Breakfast: Scrambled Eggs (nothing in it at all) with Farmers Cheese
Lunch/Dinner: Marinated Chicken (I just do a typical marinade of Lemon, Olive oil, spices, I can link the recipe if you want) with no sides, just chicken.
When first changing to a diet like this, you may get watery stool. I think it's just your colon adjusting to a different diet. I noticed that after the first few days, you notice it goes away and starts to become way more controllable. Within 3-4 weeks, I was confident enough to actually go see a 3 hour movie and not be worried about
rushing to a bathroom. I was pretty much starting to only go to the bathroom once maybe two times a day and it was fully controllable (with some gas, the gas always scared me because I was too used to that feeling of pressure meaning I had to run to a bathroom, but I eventually got used to it and could just let it out whenever)
Being really confident with those diet changes, I started to venture back to normal foods. First just sort of eating clean, but still off the diet like burritos without beans, burgers. I was still feeling really good and was thinking maybe it wasn't the diet, maybe it was something else. So I started to eat bad again, ice cream, bakery goods, it was all dandy for a good week or two, then it started to go downhill again.
I'm 100% positive being on the diet helped more than anything I've ever tried, so I cut the nonsense and stuck to it again and surely enough, back to feeling normal again. I think the diet gives you time to heal, and when you start healing, you can go back on those normal foods and think it's safe, but it will slowly start to tear you up again.
Back on the diet again and I'm feeling great. I would totally recommend at least trying it once and sticking to it. I think a lot of people get scared of the SCD because their website says to make homemade yogurt and all that crazy hard stuff. Just stick to Chicken, Eggs and Farmers cheese and take some vitamins (D, E, A, Selenium) and a good probiotic (Nature's Way Primadophilus Reuteri - I noticed taking the higher ones with multiple strands etc caused more harm than good.) Don't give up because you miss fast food or candy or sodas and say the diet doesn't work. Give it a real chance, then if after a few weeks it isn't helping at all, call it quits. If it works, start adding more SCD legal stuff to your diet.
Also, I've tried everything in the book. All meds even remicade etc., millions of supplements, you name it, I've likely tried it. Nothing has helped more than the SCD diet thus far.
