Sever flare symptoms - no pain?

I was wondering has anyone out there had severe flares without pain? Or do they go hand in hand with each other for you guys? I had a colonoscopy on Wednesday and since then have had a lot of blood, more than I've had before even went to the er about it and they actually wanted to admit me in concern of a uc flare. I was more concerned just about blood loss or a perforation from the scope. They called my gi doc and he said it's not necessary because he took a lot of biopsies. But now I'm super paranoid about being at the beginning of an awful flare. Bloody diarrhea is my only symptom at this point.

Ive been in an active pancolitis flare (8-12 BMs/day) for 5.5 years and never experienced any pain, so its not a necessary symptom

Yes, my UC flares with no pain, just lots of blood and urgency.
But every UC person has different experiences so listen to your gut and go on your own experience, not mine or anyone else's.

If your bleeding continues through the weekend you'll need to follow up for care, especially with fever, etc.
I rarely had bleeding after c-scope but some people here do (and I'm pretty easy to bleed). Your GI's explanation is reasonable but we don't know how good a doctor he is. My friend (without IBD) had a screening c-scope and got a perforated colon, that's not a good doc. I don't know if she had bleeding from it or mainly infection.

Never had any pain with the colitis, when my colon was removed in surgery for my jpouch the colon was so beat up the pathologist thought it was an emergency surgery yet it was planned surgery and I was always pain free. It just goes to show you that your colon can be in alot rougher shape than you think just because you want feeling any pain.

I haven't always had pain through my flare, most pains that I got were more lower back and thighs from sitting on the toilet for so long...tummy aches though, not really, just a bit with my IBS but they feel more like mild menstrual cramps than a tummy ache.

In my case, when things are really bad, I have excruciating pain. The cramps are unbearable...

I had severe pan colitis and didn't expericence much pain. At its worst my pain was a dull ache in my lower back. My worst symptom was the bleeding. Lots of bleeding. I had j pouch surgery and after my colon was removed my surgeon couldn't believe I never had much pain because my colon was in such horrible condition.

Weird that i am the only person with pain. I also get nauseous and I've had joint pain.

I do believe I'm flaring right now just not to the severity as the amount of blood would indicate due to the colonoscopy

Bleeding subsided this morning. Still have diarrhea but not bad enough to be in the hosp.

You're not the only one with pain, Notso. Just on this thread, perhaps. I definitely have pain and cramping when flaring.

I've had sharp knife stab like pain, during the worst of my uc flare. Milder, longer lasting pains as well.

NSSG, not the only one with severe pain. I scream from the pain. For me it's been the most unbearable part of my flares.

I figured a lot of us have dealt with the painful cramping and spams. I am sorry that others have it too. UC is the worst!

i would describe the flare pain as ingesting a mixture of live sea urchins, cactus,glass shards and bent nails.
