Hi
Has anyone given the Juice diet by Jason Vale a try? I watched the super juice me documentary which is on YouTube for free and there was a guy on there who had ulcerative colitis and he had it quite bad with constant flare ups. They put him on fresh fruit and vegetable juices and smoothies for 28 days and after his colitis had gone. They incorporated red cabbage juice with Apple everyday along with the normal programme and it worked for him.
I've never really gone for it with juicing but did know of the obvious health and nutrition benefits of extracting the minerals and vitamins from the fruit and veg leaving behind the fibre which is what ulcerative colitis sufferers need to avoid in a flare.
I started researching cabbage juice and there's quite a lot of success as it contains the amino acid glutamine which is very healing for the bowel.
I decided to go for it! I got the Jason Vale app on my phone and started 6 days ago. Im going to go for the full 28 days to give my bowel a well deserved rest. It's not easy as I miss food but it's mostly cravings as I can juice when I like. I've noticed less blood, no mucus, less cramps and I even had a firmer stool. I think this is the way to heal ulcerative colitis the natural way as steroids in my book are a road to nowhere with the eventual operation to remove the colon which I'm not too thrilled about
!
I'll let everyone know how I get on and if it works. I've had ulcerative colitis now for 10 years. I'm really hopeful and feel like this is really going to work.
If anyone has tried juice? Is thinking about
it? Has had success with healing their ulcerative colitis through juicing? I'd love to hear from you.
