Lots of mucus after using Hydrocortisone Suppositories

So my GI prescribed me hydrocortisone suppositories for my flare up, i use it 1 every night, and the amount of mucus produced has increased. I still go to poop 2-3 times during night but in the morning and througout the day i only pass mucus. I feel like i need to empty my bowel but everytime i go, only mucus and water comes out without any stool (thankfully no blood). Any reasoning for this?

Is it possible that it is the suppository goop that is coming out and not mucus. This happens to me when I use them but it is from the suppository.

If it is mucus, it suggests that you flare is getting worse faster than the steroid is helping. Some people have trouble with 5asa suppositories, but I am not sure anybody produces mucus in response to sterroids.

No the suppository goop comes out at night with stool i can see that when i go to bathroom 2-3 times at night.
