I was 28 but in hindsight, had been managing symptoms on my own for several years.

I was 54 -- well technically 53 since it was 5 days before my birthday. No problems before and I was hit hard just before Christmas 2012, went to PCP for the diarrhea (was going 4-5 times a day at that point, no blood). He put me on Questran & Flagyl. By New Years Eve I was going 20+ times/day, all blood, in pain and weak. Went to ER, they did a CT scan and admitted me. Just the year before in 2011 I had a screening colonoscopy (my mother had colon cancer) and everything was perfect. Crazy how this disease can hit out of the blue!

I was 34, but like another said I was managing small symptoms for years, it was over a 3 week period when the wheels just came off the bus, I went from having small digestive issues to an all out mega flare that landed me the hospital for a week, leaving with the diagnosis.
