Do you have any Pred tablets? Did they stop the IV steroids and give you nothing but suppositories?
You need oral Pred and hydrocortisone enemas. The enemas reach farther.
They released me from the hospital feeling as bad as before, too. I spent seven months in Pred which is sometimes necessary. It's not ideal but most people on Pred don't have long-term side effects. And it, plus curcumin, got me into a remission that's lasted almost non-stop for three years.
Besides the Pred, I got better because I tried high doses of curcumin. There are several research studies that confirm it can be effective. It worked for me and, three years later, it's still my maintenance drug. There's no way to tell if curcumin will work for you but there are no serious side effects. I needed six grams per day (that's a lot) to get into remission. You could start low and see what happens.
The other thing that helped me get better was getting a new GI. Glad you're making that happen.
I know how you're feeling and it's absolutely horrible. But you will get to the other side.
