Increased bleeding after cortenema

After using cortenemas for just over a week, my bleeding has increased quite a bit. I felt some scratching twice while inserting them, maybe that was enough to give it a good tear and increase bleeding?? The blood is very bright red, and dripping into the toilet too. I had blood before the enemas but not all the time, and not nearly as much. Not sure if I should continue with the cortenemas for a few more weeks or stop them? Also my GI has given me a prescription for mezavant, debating starting on that as well...this disease is so hard sometimes.........

I have not seen/heard of any cases where corticosteroids increased bleeding. I searched for allergic reactions to corticosteroids and pulled up nothing like the described. Call and ask your gastroenterologist and let us know what you find out.

I used cortenemas and they made me worse as well, get to your GI asap and get em switched up, for me steroid enemas were the only one that helped. Try the mezavant for sure!

I've had them be ineffective but never had them make me worse.
