Bananas help the UC condition, as they are prebiotic. The starches of a green banana are especially appealing to beneficent gut bacteria (although, not so appealing to us!) Ideally, take your prebiotic with your probiotic to maximize the benefit of their synergistic relationship.
Granted, all of this is a personalized experiment. While prebiotics DO help the probiotics to flourish and take root in the gut, those prebiotics are often rough on the sensitive lining of a healing colon (garlic or raw onion, for instance.)
If you can tolerate green banana, take it with your daily high potency probiotic to ensure the live bacteria have something to live on when they reach the gut. To maximize their effect, consider 2 days of bananas and probiotics, followed by 2 days of fasting, so that the contents of the colon have time to really take root and attach to the intestinal wall.
