Weird nausea and quick question

Hey guys. I woke up today and went to the bathroom a couple of times as usual, although with minimal blood. I guess this might mean my flare-up is ending. Anyway, since I stopped going, I have had a weird nauseous feeling around my abdomen and the best way to explain it is to compare it to the sort of sick feeling you have in your stomach when you have a hangover or have thrown up from one.

Any ideas what this might be or might be associated with?

Secondly, I was recently prescribed the 20mg pred foam enemas as I was when they first diagnosed me as the melsalazine foam forces me to live on the toilet all day and makes me worse. I was essentially wondering if the 20mg dosage is the normal dosage, as I cannot remember what I was given on hospital discharge and have a job interview in two days that I am worried about this having an effect on.

PS. Any tips for sitting in a group interview at 14:00 for around an hour with no toilet is appreciated. I generally am okay for the rest of the day after clearing my system out.

is it called cortifoam? That's all we have here in the US... I think most people just use it once a day, usually before bed. it's a reusable syringe and it's a standard dose. I've never seen that product come in any other packaging/dose.

I use it twice a day if you are referring to cortifoam
Imodium is generally a bad idea for ibd cuz you don't want to trap things in but maybe take one before the interview

I suffered with morning nausea for years. I would wake up feeling fine and within a minute of getting out of bed and standing up I would get this sick feeling come over me and I would have to actually throw up most days, almost always just bile unless I ate late and or a lot. I tried everything to get rid of it, and as usual the doctor was no help in finding a cause or solution. Finally I started taking LDN which some here say helped their UC, so I thought I would give it a whirl. What I found out about LDN is I no longer have any issues throwing up or even feeling like I'm going to anymore in the morning, if that also helps my UC great I will take it, I'm not sure how much LDN helps my other UC symptoms but I know it "cured" yes cured that word again my throwing up and nausea I dealed with for years. I will say it took about three weeks for it start working so it's not fast working by any means and kind of expensive to boot, but for me it is worth it not getting up and starting my day each day by throwing up bile every morning and this was something the doctors just weren't helping with. When I run out of LDN it only takes about 4-5 days and the nausea comes right back so I know for me it is the LDN doing the trick as long as I stay on it I haven't had any issue in the morning.

The box says "20 mg/dose Prednisolone Rectal Foam".

Hi

When I used predfoam I used it twice a day for two weeks then once a day for two weeks then stop. It was the same dose as you have mentioned.

Yeah, or at least I hope so. For the past couple of weeks I have had constant bright-red blood on toilet paper and discomfort/nausea to accompany it. I have started to see pink mucus rather than just bright red blood, so I think I have begun to heal. I also don't have as much nausea when using the toilet, but still have an urge which is at least somewhat better.

Maybe you can get a script for zofran or reglin
Although they don't treat it just get rid of the symptoms

That's not a bad idea, although I take it you are from America. I have a prescription for Hyoscine Butylbromide which blocks the nausea receptor in the brain, so I guess they do a similar job. I do appear to be running out of them though sad

Hi,

I am in a flare and have nausea too in the way you describe. I think it is a side effect of the meds and from being in a flare for a while. Apart from the medication for sickness or in addition you could try lots of camomile tea as makes me less sickly. With your meeting, don't eat before is the best way. Lifts in offices can set things off, so avoid them if you can. Hope you feel better soon.
