The past week has been sort of bittersweet for me. I had my 2 year scope last Tuesday and finally! After 23 years, my GI told me "I have never seen your colon look so healthy!" (Thanks to Remicade).
But on Monday, when I was prepping, I got a call from my uncle. He told me that my grandmother passed away (my fathers mother). So Tuesday I had the scope and Wednesday I went to a funeral. Thursday, I needed some down time so me and the hubby went to the cottage and came back today to spend Father's Day with my FIL.

Wonderful scope news!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hurray!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also glad that you got positive words from your longtime doc after he had downplayed your recent knee injury & hurt your feelings. Sorry that last week turned bittersweet when you lost your paternal grandma. Our family lost an elderly cousin that Monday, whose wife has not been doing well lately, so I hope she will pull thru the unexpected death of her hubby in his sleep. Very sad to lose the older generation. / Old Hat (34 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

Thanks to you all :) My happiness was clouded by my sadness....it's sort of a confusing time for me.
My Gma was sick for some time and even tho I loved her to bits I was expecting this, however no one is ever prepared for death. BUT out of the darkness of her death is when my GI said that. And because of that I was able to really appreciate how HARD I have fought over the years to finally reach those golden words. My Gma was one of my biggest supporters so to know that I heard my GI say those words while knowing my gma died is something that I can't even put into words.
I sincerely thank you all for your kinds words of happiness and of condolences.
