I'm not sure what to tell you other than I truly consider Miralax my go to in situations when I'm wondering if I'm constipated. It is not a stimulant. My GI says Miralax. For me, Miralax, Preparation H suppositories, water and a lot of sleep makes a difference. Miralax isn't going to work instantly. I drink 1/2 to a full cap full mixed in with my morning and bedtime herbal tea daily until I experience relief. When I do start going, my rectum sometimes pays a price and I need my rectal suppositories to shut down the tenesmus. Other times, it's enough to have an epsom salt bath or another Preparation H suppository to cool the inflammation.
Has your GI weighed in on the constipation angle? If you're eating and not going, then the waste has to be somewhere in your system. My flat x-ray showed a lot of stool and trapped gas. It was pretty clear I needed to clean myself out.
Edited to add, I also do yoga moves that supposedly help with constipation. I'm not sure if they do, but it's reassuring to have some movement in the mix when I'm not comfortable enough to flat out exercise. You can Google yoga positions and watch YouTube videos on the subject. I wasn't a yoga girl until a short while ago. Even if it doesn't work for what I intend, it's lovely. I win no matter what.
