You do need to know that the constipation and upper gastro symptoms as you describe do go hand in hand with limited rectal flaring.
I strongly, strongly suggest rectal meds at this point to see if you do improve.
Even the mildest of inflammation (again at your doctor's visual discretion of what he would determine as "flare") can cause those symptoms.
Worth a try, nothing to lose except hopefully less symptoms.
While I have upper discomfort a lot...any form of constipation, rectal discomfort/spasming and continual upper pain are clincher symptoms for my flare. My doc finally took a look, and he said "I can talk myself out of you having a flare or talk myself into you having a flare". Which meant that I was having the symptoms that I determine as a flare, and he wouldn't state no because there was in fact such mild visual inflammation regardless. Most patients wouldn't have any symptoms at all. .... but at that point, I do.
I do have stomach/gut discomfort from too much fat or garlic, actually. Once I have nausea, many other things such as smell can trigger a worsening of symptoms.....a continuing cycle at that point.
Remember that with constipation caused by mild/limited rectal inflammation will give mixed signals throughout the digestive tract. While the upper area is still active in what it does, the rectum is sending signals to say downloading isn't happening here, so stop sending stuff to this end. I think it's like the whole system ends up in hissy fits, spasming and ultimately nausea.
Antispasmodics can definitely help. how many times can you take the Zofran?
Maybe try another antispasmodic?
A change or at least a look at some food intake can either soothe or help things to actually move faster through the digestive tract which can lessen nausea.
You might also consider to take a fibre supplement with meals. I use Metamucil capsules and started slowly.
You could also consider to add another probiotic to the Align.
Hang tough...it does take a while to get things sorted initially.
The problem is that once things seem figured out, a wrench is eventually thrown in for good measure.
