Remicade side effects

Hey I had my fourth infusion today and I've been using some abdominal pain. It's not terrible but it is uncomfortable. I was was wondering if it's a very mild allergic reaction or just a side effect. If it's a reaction Benadryl should do the trick ( I'm premeditated with IV steroids)
Problem with Benadryl is that I can't drive after
Unless I take it orally the night before or when I get home
Anyone have any advice?

I wish I had some advice because you always have such good advice.

I do remember that I got terrible stomach pains after my second infusion. It only lasted a couple of days. I don't think it is an allergic reaction. I was tested for the antibodies shortly after and I was still good.

The pains are not Nearly as bad as the pains I was having when I was flaring badly so i am not going to tell my doc for fear he might take me off ( bad idea but I am not willing to go back to where I was)

Yes, that is exactly how I would describe them. Annoying pains but nothing like flaring pains. The type of pain that tylenol could manage.

My doctor seems always quick to stop the remicade too so I never complain about it. I am counting the days to my 4th infusion also...

I believe I read that Humira and Remicade can cause stomach upset (of course eh) but that it can very well subside the longer you're on it....you should discuss with your GI next visit to see what he says about it. I hope it's nothing and goes away and doesn't come back to bug you.

Remicade started to upset my stomach after three months. It helped if I ate more carbs and drank more water than usual on my Remicade days, then would just relax/take it easy the rest of the day. Hopefully it subsides for you!

I've had two remicade infusions so far, getting my third on Monday. I haven't noticed any improvement whatsoever, but I also haven't noticed any side effects either. I do get abdominal pain but it's relieved by releasing gas in the bathroom and I don't think it's related to the remicade whatsoever, then again it's hard to pinpoint what actually causes the abdominal pain, could be the medicine or just the disease itself

ive had three infusions of remicade so far. i took the first when i was still sick after the hospital, but the next day i was completely different. i havent noticed any side effects. if i have stomach problems i just sit on the toilet and just let my stomach do whatever it needs to do to be happy again!
