Severe back and side pain

Hi,

I recently started Simponi (about 2 weeks ago) and I am having TERRIBLE side and back pain! I also started uceris within the last month and mercaptopurine within the last two months. I am also on lialda, (have been on this for years). Now I have been terribly ill, in and out of hospitals for the last year and they can't get this under control. I am no stranger to joint pain, but this is worse than anything I've had so far. I have also had excessive fatigue issues for the past month. I fall asleep at my desk at work. I seriously have a hard time keeping my eyes open. Anyone have any insight on this? Also is anyone on Simponi? If so, how long until it started really working for you? I'm getting married in about a month and am really praying I will feel decent by then.

I get blood tests every two weeks. Right now my pain is going up my right side, across the mid/upper of my back and up to my left shoulder and then down my left arm. I have not been tested for a UTI.

The pain you're describing sounds like what my husband had when he had a kidney stone. You should be checked right away for whatever it is. Severe pain in never normal.

Your fatigue is likely the meds and the disease itself if you're flaring right now. Your iron could be low as well. You can have a normal hemaglobin and still have low iron.
