PLEASE READ: off endocort for three days and PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been off the endocort for 3 days and am in the final wean of my Vanco (every other day) and today at work, got really sick in the restroom. I was crying from the pain and while it wasn't watery, it was still loose. The most recent stool sample wasn't even tested for C-Diff because it was "too formed" and so the doctor said to just finish the wean but I'm afraid I still have it.

I'm really uncomfortable and the pain was so bad I was limping earlier (been better since lying down).

I would be afraid that I had it too. Sounds uncomfortable. I never heard that they can't test on formed stool. Can you call your doctor and ask if you can bring a sample soon to get rechecked?

if I'm still feeling badly on Monday, I can call back and ask them to order another stool sample, but at this point, I've been sick for over 3 months and am just at my witts end! If I have another relapse I'll go broke. I already owe a huge debt to my parents and had to dip into my "trust". I am afraid that I'll lose my job (my second one, at a restaurant) if I relapse again since I just sent them a message that they could start scheduling me again as I'm almost done with the antibiotics. I also am supposed to have my scopes (rescheduled for the 3rd time) on Sept 1 and I want them done. I don't want to reschedule again... my doctor is retiring in December and I want him to do one last set before his replacement comes to town.

I was also told it has to be watery stool to test for cdiff. Hope your feeling better soon

pain feels sharp like hunger pains but not hungry. is this normal?

How long were you on Entocort for? Did you tapper you dosage? If you were on Entocort for a while then you might be going through withdrawal which is causing you the pain.

Yes, they only test watery stool for c.diff.

3 months. 1 month 3 pills a day. 1 month 2 pills a day. 1 month 1 pill a day

Did you speak to your GI today? Maybe you need to tapper a little slower, something like 1 pill every other day for the next 10 days. Pains can be caused from steroid withdrawal.
